Position Summary

The General Labourer plays an important role in supporting our field crews on a variety of construction and repair projects including basement waterproofing, water control systems, concrete repairs, and concrete raising.

This role involves assisting with site preparation, material handling, equipment setup, and supporting technicians to complete projects safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a hands-on construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

Job Site Preparation

• Assist with setting up and preparing job sites before work begins
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
• Prepare work areas by clearing debris and ensuring safe access to workspaces
• Assist with excavation and site preparation when required

Construction & Project Support

• Support technicians during basement waterproofing installations
• Assist with installation of drainage systems and water control systems
• Help with concrete repair and concrete raising projects
• Mix and transport construction materials as needed
• Assist with demolition and removal of damaged materials
• Carry and organize tools and equipment for field crews

Equipment & Tool Handling

• Operate basic construction tools and equipment safely
• Maintain tools and ensure equipment is clean and ready for use
• Assist with setting up pumps, hoses, and other job site equipment
• Help maintain organized and safe work areas

Site Cleanup & Maintenance

• Clean and organize job sites during and after projects
• Remove debris and ensure properties are left clean and professional
• Assist with transporting materials and equipment back to the shop

Safety & Teamwork

• Follow company safety procedures and job site safety standards
• Work closely with crew members to complete projects efficiently
• Communicate with team leaders about project progress and any issues
• Represent the company professionally while working on customer properties

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods
• Willingness to learn new construction skills and techniques
• Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
• Construction or labour experience considered an asset

Technical Skills

• Ability to safely operate basic construction tools
• Familiarity with job site safety practices
• Experience with excavation, waterproofing, or concrete work considered an asset
